About David E. Bender

David was born in Erie, where his parents recognized his unique ability in drawing and sent him to a specialty art school at the age of five. David continued his training in art throughout all of his formal education as a potential architect student in junior college, until before he could attain his associates degree he was drafted into the army to serve in Vietnam.

After his time was served, David decided to finish his bachelors and applied to attend the University of South Florida, though rather than become an architect as he’d originally planned, he decided to pursue art instead. Graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts as well as a mentorship under one of his most influential teachers, Theo Wujick. David focused on lithography and advancing his personal capabilities in the masters of fine art.

Throughout his 25 year career as an artist, David has created artwork professionally, experimentally, and he has enjoyed donating pieces for charitable causes. Currently, David is working with his artistic team to develop plans for very select gallery showings as well as new opportunities for distribution.

David's current focus is on the production and evolution of his abstract collection, the  Starlet Series though time & again, he finds himself going back to his roots with the penciled drawings he has always enjoyed.
